Free Recycling of Electronic Goods
Mr Memory take environmental policies very seriously and have an on-site Compliance Team to oversee all the policies we put in place.
Wherever possible we aim to reduce our impact on the environment through implementing measures above and beyond our legal obligations. We recycle all waste packaging materials in a responsible manner.
WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
- The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 (WEEE) is a UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
- The regulations have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection.
- Both Mr Memory and our customers can assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment. We cannot recycle it unless you return it, so our customers have an important role to play in helping us to recycle.
- Every year an estimated 2 million tonnes of WEEE items are discarded by householders and companies in the UK.
- Mr Memory will undertake their responsibility as a distributor to dispose of these goods in line with European legislation.
Is my product covered?
If the product or packaging displays the symbol shown here then the product is covered by the WEEE Directive.
If the symbol is not present on your old computer memory, don't worry as it is still covered.
How do I recycle my old products?
You can return waste electrical equipment to Mr Memory when you are purchasing a new product from us. Please note that it has to be a like for like product.
When you have finished with a WEEE product, please do not put in your domestic waste bin, as it will not be recycled.
Return the product using the packaging from your order and using the FREEPOST returns label on your invoice. If you don't have the returns label please write the address on the front of the envelope (see below). Do not put any stamps on the package.
We will deal with the waste product in an environmentally responsible manner, in conjunction with our local council and waste management provider, at no cost to you.
If you are sending your old RAM, no data is stored, so please don't break the product. If you are returning a Digital Memory Card, USB Drive, Hard Drive or SSD please ensure all personal data is removed by fully re-formatting the product before posting.
Please write 'WEEE' followed by your invoice number on the back of the package and drop into your nearest post box or post office.
