How to use the ScanMyPC App

1. After clicking 'SCAN COMPUTER', open the 'mrmemoryscanner.exe' file from the Downloads popup menu. If your browser asks you to save the file choose a download location such as the downloads folder or desktop and click 'Save'. As soon as the file has downloaded please run or open the file (in some browsers this may be automatic).
2. If you see a security warning message from your browser or OS - do not worry, the ScanMyPC App is signed with a digital security certificate and is perfectly safe. Please click 'Run' to continue. If you see a security message from 'Microsoft Defender SmartScreen', simply click the 'More info' link and then the 'Run anyway' button.
3. The scanner will complete it's scan in only a few seconds. Please wait for a new browser window or tab to open and then click the 'View Results' button to continue.
4. To view your full scan results, you will be asked to provide your name and a valid email address. Your details are used to send you a link to your scan results and we may send you one follow-up email. We will not send further emails or marketing unless you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
5. The results will show your model information with installed RAM and drive details. You can then click the option from the model search results that best matches your machine. If you are still unsure click the 'Request Help' button at the bottom of the search results to send us the scan details. We will then get back to you with your upgrade options.
6. If you saved the file to your computer in step 1, this can be deleted when the scan has completed. The direct download ScanMyPC App does not install anything on your computer. The Microsoft Store version will install to your system, but can be easily uninstalled after use.

Note: If you are running Windows as a virtual machine (e.g. Hyper-V, VirtualBox, VMware etc) the scanner will be unable to detect the physical system and installed memory and storage. Please run from the host OS. The ScanMyPC App is not compatible with core installations of Windows Server.

Privacy & Security

The ScanMyPC App is safe to download and does not contain any spyware.

Our scanner simply checks for the make and model of your computer, the operating system and details of the memory and any attached storage devices.

All information collected is used solely to assist you or our specialists in identifying your memory upgrade options.

The ScanMyPC App does not collect any personal information stored on your system and we cannot access any of your personal data through the scanner or its results.
