COVID-19 Response

The health and safety of our staff, customers and visitors will always be our top priority. In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic we have completed a risk assessment and as a result implemented several changes to our procedures. These changes help to reduce the spread of COVID-19, protecting our staff and visitors and allowing us to continue supplying products to our valued customers.

The main risk is spreading the virus due to close contact with an infected person or contact with surfaces that may have been exposed to the virus. The measures below summarise the procedures we are following to reduce these risks as much as possible.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) advise that the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low. The risk of catching COVID-19 from a package that has travelled and has been exposed to different conditions and temperatures is also low.

Control Measures


  • Staff to follow government advice and to self-isolate when appropriate.
  • Strict social distancing - we are maintaining a 2m distance or 1m where 2m is not viable, with personal protection equipment (PPE). The company has been split into department bubbles to protect staff and our customers. Workstations have been re-arranged to support social distancing.
  • Interaction between staff members and with visitors to be kept to a minimum.
  • Limitation on number of colleagues working in an office to adhere to social distancing and colleagues do not gather in communal areas.
  • Clear social distancing signage displayed near entrances to the building.
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection of surfaces including all door handles, light switches, computer/telephone equipment, tables, chairs, kitchen & toilet facilities, air conditioning units etc.
  • Reduced staffing levels and staggered working hours (extended over the weekend).
  • All staff are keeping a record of all contacts for track and trace to ensure maximum safety for friends, family and colleagues.
  • Close and regular monitoring of staff for symptoms of Covid-19.

  • Follow advice from the UK's Mental Health Foundation - How to look after your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak.
  • Any existing individual risk assessments to be reviewed.
  • Encourage working from home if feasible.
  • Maintain contact with line management and Human Resources (HR) and to follow company policy / guidance.
  • Essential travel only and no car sharing with anyone outside of your household.
  • Only attend hospital in an emergency. Do not attend GP surgery and phone NHS line (111) if further advice is required.
  • Company to ensure extremely vulnerable persons are shielding themselves and following their specific medical advice.
  • Follow NHS advised hygiene measures at all times.
  • Do not approach delivery staff, allow packages to be left on the doorstep.
  • Inbound goods which could have come into contact with a human in the past 24 hours to be disinfected.
  • Hands to be thoroughly washed regularly and after receiving deliveries.
  • Constant monitoring of government guidelines on a phased return to normal working conditions.
