Customer Service is Number One

We are very committed to Customer Care at Mr Memory and are constantly reviewing new ways to assist and communicate with our customers.

We have recently set up a new Customer Service Team. Headed up by Laura Rooke, they will be responsible for all things Customer related – whether it be support advice, responding to reviews or chasing a delayed parcel.

Mr Memory currently have over 9,000 5 star reviews on Trustpilot. We really enjoy reading them all and love to see what a difference upgrades have made to customers’ machines.

With every order placed, we believe communication is vital. We let you know when the order is confirmed and when it is dispatched. If you use a Courier option, we will also let you know when it is delivered and who signed for it.

Hassle Free Returns

Here at Mr Memory we strive to ensure your transaction runs smoothly from start to finish.

That is why on every invoice*, there is a pre-printed Freepost returns sticker. This is for you to use if you ever need to return something to us – for whatever reason.

Once you have supplied a Returns Number after using the Mr Memory Support Form, please return the memory in the original packaging, affixing the Freepost sticker to the front of the packet. Please also write the Returns Number in the space provided on the label.

That’s it! There is no need for stamps or a post office – just pop it into the postbox. Your return will be processed on the same day that we receive the packet back.

Upgrading to Windows 8? – Make sure you stay up to speed

If you are planning an upgrade to Microsoft Windows 8 you will need to consider if you have enough memory. To run Windows 8 at a basic level of operation, Microsoft recommend 1Gb for the 32bit version and 2Gb for the 64bit version. Although this will allow you to run Windows 8 on your system, as with any product, meeting the minimum hardware requirements does not necessarily maximise performance. This is because computer memory is needed for almost every aspect of a PC and as Windows 8 is built for multitasking and multimedia applications, the memory becomes an even more important piece of hardware.
So how much memory do we suggest for Windows 8? Well it would be easy for us to say install the maximum your machine can take, but that would be the obvious answer. Realistically around 4Gb will be enough to keep most home and small business users happy, whilst enthusiasts and users running memory intensive applications will most likely upgrade their machines to the maximum.

To see if your Machine can be upgraded to Windows 8 you will need to download the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant.

To check your memory upgrade options please search for your model using the drop-down menu on the Mr Memory Home Page or alternatively run the Mr Memory Computer Scanner to find your PC’s make and model.

Apple OS X Mountain Lion memory requirements

OS X Mountain LionIf you are thinking of upgrading your Mac to the latest OS X – Mountain Lion, you will need to consider the hardware requirements and what machines can actually be upgraded. The basic general requirements are:

OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space

You will also need to make sure your Mac supports the new OS X update. All supported models are as follows: (click on your model to find a compatible memory upgrade)

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)

Is my RAM / Memory Module Faulty?

We test all returned memory from our customers using a Ramcheck LX professional memory tester.

From doing this we have found a large percentage of memory modules returned as faulty actually pass our extensive tests.

If you believe the Memory we have supplied is faulty we urge you to follow our troubleshooting tips thoroughly (these are on the leaflet enclosed with your order or you can download a PDF version).

Alternatively please watch the generic installation videos showing how to correctly install memory.

If you have tried all of our tips and are still experiencing problems please use our Support Request Form and we will be happy to assist and of course replace your Memory if required.

Mr Memory have developed a new Computer Scanner to make it quick and easy for our customers to identify their computers. This works by simply downloading a very small file which is 100% secure and leaves nothing installed on your system.

The Mr Memory Scanner

Currently the Mr Memory Scanner is fully compatible with all versions of Microsoft:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2008

The scanner automatically analyses your computer in seconds and displays the make, model and memory currently installed. Customers can then use this information to search the Mr Memory website for compatible upgrades.
